2018 Region 5 Best Warrior Competition
Soldiers from the states of Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas compete in the National Guard's Region 5 Best Warrior Competition held at the Robinson Maneuver Training Center in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Each state sent two competitors to participate in the event but only the two winners will move onto the National Best Warrior Competition. The winners of the 2018 Region 5 Best Warrior Competition are Staff Sgt. Lawrence Raymond of Bravo Company, Recruiting and Retention Command, Arkansas Army National Guard, and Spc. 1-151 Casing of Colors Ceremony
1st Squadron, 151st Cavalry Regiment conducted their casing of the dolors ceremony to signify the disbanding of their regiment. The ceremony took place in Warren, Arkansas on February 7, 2016. The 1-151 was formed in 2005. During the past ten years, the soldiers of the 1-151 have served both on the state and national level. This ceremony recognizes that service. The soldiers of the 1-151 will be retained in the Arkansas National Guard within the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team.

Camden Soldiers to participate in air assault exercise with Army Aviators
The Arkansas Army National Guard’s Camden based C-Troop, 1-151 Cavalry of the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team and the Camp Robinson based 77th Theater Aviation Brigade conducted a joint air assault exercise beginning in Camden and ending at the Fort Chaffee Maneuver Training Center Friday, August 3rd. Available in high definition. Includes interview with SFC Roland Byers. Approximately 35 Soldiers from the 1-151 CAV will participate in an exercise that is to train the troopers on rotary wing air assault procedures while they are in full battle gear. This is a unique opportunity for two major subordinate commands in the Arkansas National Guard to benefit in a joint training exercise.

Annual training provides units the opportunity to validate combat skills, refine leader development and increase lethality across the brigade.
The 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team conductes annual training at Fort Chaffee Joint Maneuver Training Center to build readiness, strengthen individual and collective proficiency, and prepare Soldiers for future state and federal missions.

The program is administered by the National Guard Bureau, guided by State Department foreign policy goals, and executed by the state adjutants general in support of combatant commander and U.S. Chief of Mission security cooperation objectives and Department of War policy goals.
Class participants also toured the Arkansas State Capitol and received briefings on legislative affairs and international trade. The Arkansas National Guard and Guatemala have been paired in the National Guard Bureau’s State Partnership Program since 2002.
