UAMS Covid-19 support mission extended 7 days thru Feb. 11

~ Soldiers will assist with Covid-19 drive-thru testing at Little Rock’s UAMS hospital

 

WHO:        At the request of the Arkansas Department of Health through the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management

 

WHAT:      12 Arkansas National Guard Soldiers from the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team will have their mission extended to support the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences hospital in Little Rock’s Covid-19 drive-thru testing site.

 

WHEN:      Guardsmen will have their duty extended seven days through Feb. 11.

 

WHERE:   4301 West Markham, Little Rock, Ark.

 

WHY:        The 12 Guardsmen, initially called to duty Jan. 3, were expected to serve until Feb. 4. UAMS requested a seven-day extension through ADH and ADEM because of sustained Covid-19 testing and screening rates.

 

The Arkansas National Guard assumes support roles to augment civil authorities, where needed and directed by the Governor, to help in a crisis.
