20 Guardsmen to support ADH with COVID-19 case management

WHO: The Arkansas National Guard
WHAT: By order of the Governor, has mobilized 20 Medic Guardsmen from the 77th Combat Aviation Brigade, 87th Troop Command, 142nd Field Artillery Brigade and Medical Command
WHEN: June 15 until July 1, 2020
WHERE: at the Arkansas Department of Health, 4815 W. Markham, Little Rock, Ark.
WHY: Arkansas National Guardsmen will assist the Arkansas Department of Health with COVID-19 positive case management in line with state and federal guidelines outlined by the designated ADH supervisor. They will report to ADH Tuesday, June 16.
In addition to the 20 called to duty today, 11 Guardsmen are still providing the following support to state agencies:
- Six Guardsmen are providing logistics support to distribute personal protective equipment.
- Five Guardsmen are providing cemetery maintenance at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
The Arkansas National Guard assumes support roles to augment civil authorities, where needed and directed by the Governor, to help in a crisis.
