 Guard General retires from long, distinguished career
~National Guard leader retiring after 33 years of service

WHO:        The Arkansas National Guard

WHAT:    Will host a formal retirement ceremony for Brigadier General Gregrey C. Bacon, Deputy Adjutant General, to recognize his contributions to the Arkansas National Guard

WHEN:           At 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018. Media interested in coverage of the event are asked to meet media escort at the main gate visitor center of Camp Joseph T. Robinson at 12:30 p.m.

WHERE:    The ceremony will be held at the National Guard Professional Education Center auditorium on Camp Joseph T. Robinson in North Little Rock. Media interviews will be available with Bacon after the ceremony at 1:45 p.m., the event begins promptly at 1 p.m.

WHY:    Brig. Gen. Gregrey Bacon is retiring from the Arkansas National Guard after a long and distinguished career. His service included time as both an enlisted soldier and as an officer in the Arkansas National Guard. He began his career in the Arkansas National Guard in 1985. He received his commission through Officer Candidate School in 1990, where he was recognized as the Honor Graduate and Distinguished Honor Graduate. Bacon has held multiple positions during his service, including Battery Commander, Recruiting and Retention Commander, and the Chief of Staff. He has deployed with the 142nd Fires Brigade during Operation Enduring Freedom, where he served as the IED-Defeat Cell Chief. In December 2012. Bacon was federally recognized as a Brigadier General in May 2016 and was selected as the Deputy Adjutant General for the Arkansas National Guard.
