Arkansas National Guard Marksmanship Competition
~Guardsmen Compete in 2018 TAG (The Adjutant General’s) Match
WHO: Arkansas Army and Air National Guard Marksmen
WHAT: Will compete in annual marksmanship competition.
WHEN: Saturday, August 18, 2018, starting approximately 7 a.m. and concluding
with an awards ceremony on Sunday, August 19, 2018, at approximately 2
p.m. Contact Spc. Stephen Wright, 501-212-5026 / 501-502-6880, to
arrange coverage access.
WHERE: Robinson Maneuver Training Center, North Little Rock, Arkansas
WHY: The primary purpose of this training event is the development of combat
skills to improve proficiency above basic marksmanship requirements and
increase battlefield survivability.
The Adjutant General heartily encourages all Company, Battery, and Squadron size units
to enter a team. Soldiers and Airmen will compete with their issued M4/16 series rifle and
M9 pistol. Shooting positions include prone supported and unsupported, sitting, kneeling,
standing, and improvised. Ranges will vary from 10 meters to 400 meters.
Top shooters earn the Bronze Excellence in Competition badges and the Governor's
Twenty Tab. The top Soldiers and Airmen in this event will also be chosen to represent
the Arkansas National Guard at the 2019 MAC-V Regional Championship and the 2019
Winston P. Wilson Matches. The State Marksmanship Coordinator will make the final
determination of team members.
