WHY: The Arkansas Division of Emergency Management tasked the Arkansas National Guard to provide 6 Soldiers to assist with PPE distribution.
Arkansas Army National Guard Soldiers from the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team are working at an undisclosed warehouse location for loading, movement and distribution of PPE to designated healthcare facilities.
Soldiers are tasked with supporting warehouse operations, providing logistics and distribution capabilities to help deliver and distribute lifesaving medical equipment and critical supplies.
Arkansas National Guard efforts continue to focus on support to call centers, medical screening and testing capabilities, assessing and creating additional medical capacity, medical and logistics planning and analysis, and providing logistical support to include transportation and distribution of medical supplies.
Photos are available on DVIDS at: NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - Soldiers from the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team assisted with unloading and sorting personal protective equipment (PPE) at the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management's Federal Surplus Property warehouse. The PPE will be used to resupply hospitals, first responders and other organizations in response to COVID-19.
The Arkansas National Guard assumes support roles to augment civil authorities, where needed and directed by the Governor, to help in a crisis.
