North Platte, Neb. Award Presentation
The 142nd Field Artillery Brigade, Arkansas National Guard, presented the residents of North Platte, Neb. and North Platte Visitor's Bureau an award in the shape of the same type of rounds fired while conducting training during their rotation in Guernsey, Wyo. The residents of North Platte, Neb., provided meals and entertainment, free of charge, to Arkansas Soldiers who were returning from Camp Guernsey, Wyo., where they had just completed the Operation Western Strike training exercise in June. Hundreds of residents from the area turned out to volunteer their time, food and entertainement skills to help the Soldiers rest during their 18-hour commute home.
