WHAT: Will conduct a Gold Phase Battle Hand-Off Ceremony for over 70 young Arkansas Guardsmen

WHERE: Media are asked to meet escort at the visitor center next to the main gate of Robinson Maneuver Training Center in North Little Rock. The event will take place at Kordsmeier Hall on Camp Robinson.
WHY: The Arkansas Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion will host a Gold Phase Battle Hand-Off Ceremony on Sunday March 10th at 10AM at Kordsmeier Hall on Camp Robinson. This ceremony will highlight the successful completion of the Recruit Sustainment Program for over 70 young Arkansas Guardsmen and will be attended by family and friends. The Recruit Sustainment Program is designed to help ensure that young enlistees are prepared for the rigors of basic training and advanced individual training. These young Soldiers meet one weekend each month to receive hands on guidance and instruction from some of the most well trained Soldiers in the Arkansas National Guard. Completion of this program can take up to two years for some and is the last step prior to the Soldier entering the ranks of their assigned unit. Once completed, the Soldier is qualified to serve in all of the traditional roles of a Guardsmen: serving their state in times of natural disaster or civil unrest as well as answering the call from the Department of Defense anywhere around the globe.
