871st Troop Command 1st Battalion, 87th Troop Command was activated on 2 May 1999 and was later reorganized in 2002, as what is known today as 871st Troop Command. Its mission is to provide administrative, logistical, and training support to its organic units. Current 871st Troop Command Units: 106th Army Band 119th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment 216th Military Police Guard Co 224th Maintenance Co 871St HHC Being a part of any of these excellent units will make you a part of the most diverse Battalion in the Arkansas National Guard. The 871st Troop Command offers a wider variety of Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) than any other Battalion in the State.
871st HHC: The 871st HHC is where the staff is located. This is the heart of the operation for the 871st Troop Command. The HQ executes all administrative and logistical functions for the Battalion as well as tracking all training and operations for 871st Troop Command units. This unit is located in Hot Springs, Ar. 106th Army Band: The 106th Army Band is the one and only professional military band in the State of Arkansas. If you enjoy playing an instrument and also want to serve your country at the same time, then this is the unit for you. Being a part of this unit you will perform at parades, ceremonies, and concerts in their mission to foster the support of the public for National Guard Soldiers. 119th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment:
The 119th mission is to provide public affairs support to the Arkansas National Guard in order to tell the Soldiers’ story, inform the public, facilitate media engagement and develop community relations. If you are the kind of individual who has an interest in journalism, and/or have an interest in public relations and working with the media, then this is the unit for you! 216th Military Police Guard Co: The mission of the 216th is to provide guards for enemy prisoner of war and civilian internees (EPW/CI), or provide guards for U.S. military prisoners, installations, and facilities. This unit is the only Military Police Company in the State of Arkansas. If you already work for law enforcement on the civilian side or are thinking of pursuing that career, then why not serve your country at the same time and be a part of the 216th Military Police Guard Co today! 224th Maintenance Co:
The 224th Maintenance Co. mission is to provide field maintenance support and protect the force. This unit has been considered the best Maintenance Company in the State. If you enjoy doing maintenance work, then this is the unit for you. The 224th has a wealth of experienced Soldiers who are experts in the respective maintenance field.
