Arkansas National Guard Soldiers Compete for Title of Regional Best Warrior
~Three-day Event tests Mental, Physical Endurance and Mastery of Soldier Skills 

Who:    Soldiers of the Arkansas National Guard and Soldiers from surrounding area-Region 5
What:    Will compete in a three-day competition to determine the Regional National Guard Best Warrior
When:    from noon today through 5:00 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2018. (Media should plan to meet escort at the Camp Robinson Visitor Center at the Main Gate on Military Drive in North Little Rock)
Where:    The competition will take place on multiple training locations and range facilities on Camp Robinson in North Little Rock, Arkansas
Why:    The Arkansas National Guard annually competes in the Best Warrior competition to determine the state’s representatives to the regional and national level competitions for the National Guard and the U.S. Army. 
    This year’s regional competition is being held in Arkansas at the Robinson Maneuver Training Center.

The three-day event is a mental and physical challenge to evaluate each Soldier’s endurance and mastery of common Soldier tasks as established in Army training manuals. During the competition Soldiers compete in two divisions – enlisted Soldier and Non-commissioned Officer. Soldiers earn points based on timing of events and by difficulty of tasks. 
    The competition includes: Army Physical Fitness Test, a 12-mile road march, rifle marksmanship, first aid, weapons assembly/dis-assembly, combat water survival and board interview by a panel of senior NCOs.

Soldiers from the Arkansas National Guard have previously won the nationwide National Guard Best Warrior title in 2012, 2013 and 2014.
